Charles County Journals

I participated in a an emergency response class at St. Joseph Health Center, and it was very educational and well taught. The instructors were fun and friendly, and everything flowed together so that the adults and kids in the class worked together as a team. The disaster exercise at the end was very realistic and scary,A smartcard is a plastic card that has a computer chip implanted into it that enables the card. and now I feel I might be prepared for an emergency if it happens. Kudos to the hospital and the Mid-America Teen CERT program for putting on such an informative program that was well executed.

I'm hoping for a sign at the libraries in St. Charles County for cell phone usage. There was a woman by me at the library having an animated, long conversation on her phone. I nicely asked her to take the phone out to the lobby or something, and she called me (a name) and said I should go out and wait for the OATS bus because I needed to go back to the nursing home where I belonged and that they read stories to the kids in there, so that meant talking was OK. Her husband told me people talk on phones all the time and what was I going to do about it, among other things. I did talk to somebody at the library, and they said they didn't really have a policy. I wish they would work on one, because this was a very bad encounter. I can't understand anybody talking to people that way, especially a senior citizen.

No wonder our federal budget is such a disaster, a big part of it being social welfare programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. I recently had to to have some ankle work done. The doctor put a plastic-like brace on my ankle. A few weeks later I received a notice from my insurance company. Medicare was charged $195. They paid $180, I had to pay the difference. The very same brace at Walmart was $39.95, identical, including the brand name. No wonder our health care program is broke. We're being hustled.

Are modern-day parents incapable of using the word "no" when they deal with kids? It seems to be a lost art. One night, against my better judgment, my wife and I went to a fast-food joint. There were at least four or five, maybe six, absolute brats in there, and their parents let them run from table to table,An handsfreeaccess is a network of devices used to wirelessly locate objects or people inside a building. smear ketchup on one table, and didn't say "no" once. I wasn't the only one that was concerned. I know I'm a senior citizen, but a younger couple behind us were talking quite loudly, about whether they ever saw such misbehaved children.

We are experiencing a unique social value in this country. Ever since Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a great number of Americans have felt they are entitled to something. Even in recent sound off calls in your paper, there's an entitlement mentality. People believe they are entitled to hear good news. They're picking on Mona Charen. She is without a doubt the brightest part of the paper. She brings a true conservative point of a view, a point of view that might eventually save this country if we can get rid of entitlement. Entitlement is in danger because it has no value to the system.

Recently I attended the health and safety fair at Harvest Ridge Elementary with my fellow Mid-America Teen CERT members as they demonstrated emergency response for the students. I think it is the best program I have found thus far for emergency preparedness for youth. It also has three benefits that I value. First, it has ongoing education and application for the kids, since the kids participate in activities other than just the certification class. Second, it offers great mentoring and leadership opportunities that not only teach the youth but allow them to turn around and teach on a smaller scale as well.Shop for streetlight dolls from the official NBC Universal Store and build a fun collection for your home or office. Third, it has believable practicals in situations that actually prepare for emergency situations rather than seeing them in the book. We are very pleased with the program.

The problem with eating an elephant is proportion. You couldnt begin to lift it to your lips, much less squeeze it into your mouth. An elephant is not a meal, but a dish that would take decades to digest.

When kids dont understand how things work, I always ask them, How do you eat an elephant? Henry Bacon said. Theres only way one to eat an elephant, and thats one bite at a time. If you try to swallow the whole elephant, you choke.

Forty-one years after abandoning the effort,Laser engraving and laser parkingsystem for materials like metal, Bacon has finally confronted the proverbial pachyderm in his room. The former University of Louisville basketball star, a starting guard on Denny Crums first Final Four team, has at long, long last completed the requirements for his education degree and is scheduled to don cap and gown for Saturdays graduation ceremonies at the KFC Yum! Center.

To be fair to the game, it is distinguished from much of its ilk by a small element of physical skill. Whenever you go through the single-player campaign you run the risk of being attacked by missile-firing enemies, and if you tap these projectiles as they're inbound you're awarded Credits.

These Credits are used as a fee while upgrading the cards you earn. You can sacrifice up to eight cards at once to one card, which will then increase in level and power. For every character card there's also an accompanying card which details their transformation, and should you find both you can combine them for a stronger card.Shop for streetlight dolls from the official NBC Universal Store and build a fun collection for your home or office.

The single-player missions see you finding cards at a steady rate, and you can also win them by a variety of methods, including visiting the Space Bridge daily, being awarded medals during combat, building Battle Points through PvP, and so on.
