On
a cold and rainy Friday when absolutely nothing happened on-track at
Pocono Raceway, the hottest topic was last weekend's controversial
late-race restart that likely cost Jimmie Johnson a win in the FedEx 400
at Dover. He had dominated the 400-lap, 400-mile race, but was lined up
beside leader Juan Pablo Montoya for a restart with 19 laps remaining.
Johnson
clearly jumped the restart -- he's not convinced, but he's the only one
with any doubt -- and quickly drove off to a huge lead, clearly the
class of the field. But NASCAR called him in for a drive-through penalty
for jumping the restart. That cost him a lap and threw him from a
likely win to a 17th-place finish, a lap down to winner Tony Stewart and
runner-up Montoya.
On
Friday, as rain stopped everything in its tracks, Johnson, Montoya and
third-place finisher Jeff Gordon addressed last weekend's Dover finish.
Johnson still maintains he left within the restart zone when it seemed
Montoya wasn't able to go. Montoya insisted he did nothing wrong, that
Johnson was entirely at fault for going much too soon. Gordon sort of

In
NASCAR, there are very few moments when a penalty could be drawn or a
foul could be drawn like we've seen in the NBA, he said. Right now,
there's flopping that goes on. In the restart zone, Juan didn't go and
he played it right. He was smart in letting me get out ahead and let
NASCAR make the call keeping me from having the lead and winning the
race. But I don't have anything against Juan for doing it; as racers we
need to work any and every angle we can.
I
put a more weight into how the rule reads and the way it's intended to
be enforced. We can look at enforcing it differently; everybody looking
at it afterwards can see that Juan didn't go. What happens when you get
out of that restart zone, from there to the start-finish line? With the
data we have and the technology we have, we have the tools to make a
better decision at that point. The race was taken away from us and the
championship bonus points are gone, so it's difficult to do the right
thing (in hindsight). But in today's world of technology, I hope we can
figure out exactly how does that rule read?
I kind of get it, but from the restart zone to the start-finish line,Choose from the largest selection of rfidtag in
the world. if I guy breaks or has trouble, NASCAR has the ability to
make the call and say they had trouble and it's fine to go. Someone
flops, what then? You think about the restart zone at Indy, you have a
couple hundred yards from the end of that zone to the start-finish line.
If I'm the leader and on the outside, I could let five or six cars go
and then get to the start-finish line and trap them all and put them in
position to be penalized.
Juan
found a loophole in the officiating and worked it to his advantage. I'm
mad I didn't win the race, but I'm not mad at him. We need to look at
how we officiate and how we can regulate that and keep that from
happening. At Dover, it's a very short distance from the restart zone to
the start-finish line. At other tracks, it's a huge distance. Here,
it's pretty big. You could pin four or five people into that position if
they take the bait, which I took the bait clearly.

lane? Montoya asked. You think about it: let's say I had a bad restart
and he beat me by a bumper or half a car length. NASCAR wouldn't have
said anything. But it was Jimmie -- then the field, so I'm okay with the

we were coming to the [restart] cones and he didn't even want to line
up next to me. He was actually dropping back. He wanted to time it, but
he just mistimed it.
He
really says I found a loophole in the rule? Wow, I'm that good
[laughs]? That's a compliment. The loophole is that you have to start
between the cones and the leader has to restart between the two cones. I
did that. And you're not supposed to beat the leader to the line.
What's so hard about that? I know he dominated the race, but we came to a
pit stop and we did a better job than his guys. And as we did a better
job than his guys we were the leader not him.
Crazy
enough, but if he'd backed off and let me go, he probably would have
passed me again and it would have been all good. He wanted to time it
really well to where he didn't have to deal with me through turns one
and two, but he mistimed it. That is it, no drama. It's up to everybody
else to follow the leader's pace. If I'd restarted and Jimmie passed me
and four cars followed him, NASCAR would have said the No. 42 had a bad
restart. But how is it that only Jimmie went away?
From
inside the car, I couldn't tell what happened, the four-time champion
said. I just know we started to take off and all of the sudden we were
stacking up. That was Clint Bowyer starting to go with Jimmie and he
checked up and that stacked us up pretty bad. I was just trying to
figure out how not to wreck by the time we got to turn one.
It
was a combination. Jimmie was right there on that edge of anticipation
in getting all he could on that restart. Juan did a great job. I've been
watching NBA lately and watching the [NBA players] flop, and that was

get the best start he can and if he feels somebody else is going to try
to take advantage of that situation or get a little bit of a run, he can

think if the 15 car [Bowyer] had kept going and also passed the 42
[Montoya], I don't think NASCAR would have called Jimmie (for jumping
the restart]. I think they would have thought something happened to the
42. But because the 15 checked up to not pass the 42, it just made
Jimmie's lead look so absurd.

Libertarian's Leger
Last
weekend we enjoyed the Derby at Epsom and there were certainly a few
fingers burnt with the poor show from Dawn Approach. Who knows what
caused him to run so keenly, but it was a total disaster from the point
of view of his connections and let's hope it hasn't left its mark.
Certainly the slow early pace contributed to him unravelling so spectacularly, but for a horse who is normally so relaxed he blew it big time.Virtual iphoneheadset logo Verano Place logo. The good news is if you read the blog last week, hopefully you will have backed Libertarian each way. I really fancied him to run a big race and with the news that he had galloped the 'wrong' way round Middleham's High Moor gallops I was even more confident of a bold show.
If he had been trained by any of the so called leading players he would have been a much shorter price and I was amazed the Dante winner returned at such a generous SP. He now looks like being supplemented for the Irish Derby where he could meet the winner, Ruler of the World, again. I'd be more interested to see him take the same horse on again in the St Leger though.
Onto this weekend now and things are much more low key as we build up to Royal Ascot in a couple of weeks. There's a decent card at Leopardstown on Friday night though with the feature race the Listed Saval Beg Stakes over 1m 6f.This model includes 2 flush mounted reverse chipcard. Aidan and Joseph O'Brien team up with one of the leading contenders, El Salvador, who like the Derby winner last weekend will wear cheekpieces, although in this horse's case not for the first time.
He has to put a disappointing run in the Vintage Crop Stakes behind him when he was beaten favourite and it will also be the first time he has encountered fast ground on turf, although he has won twice on the polytrack at Dundalk. He has a habit of sweating up badly before a race, but he has done than a couple of times and it doesn't seem to stop him.
Dermot Weld had Rite of Passage entered in the race, but he goes straight for the Ascot Gold Cup now in order to avoid a run on fast ground. Weld does have a chance of winning the race though with the filly Pale Mimosa. She hasn't run since October, but the trip should suit and the ground shouldn't be a problem either.
This will only be her fifth start and there could be much more to come from her. To date she has won two of her four starts including the Listed Galtres Stakes at York over a mile and a half. She's an exciting prospect and I hope she can win this en-route to better things.
There is another Listed race on the card, the King George V Cup for 3 year-olds over 1m 3f. The O'Briens team up with Count of Limonade who is highest rated in the field.Virtual iphoneheadset logo Verano Place logo. One of his main dangers is Fighter Squadron who is in the same ownership of Magnier, Tabor and Smith,The largest manufacturer of textile smartcard for use with perchloroethylene. but this horse is trained by David Wachman. The pair finished third and fourth in that order in a Group 3 at the Curragh last time out and the one to take out of that race was probably Fighter Squadron who looked like this step up to 1m 3f would suit.
There is also a Listed race at Haydock, the Achilles Stakes over 5 furlongs. Excelette is bidding to win the race for the second year in succession for Bryan Smart and she should run well once again.
Joey Barton owns My Propeller but she made no impression in the Palace House last time out and will need to produce more with Ryan Moore riding for the first time. Medicean Man is the highest rated by some way for trainer Jeremy Gask. He won a handicap in Dubai back in January and has run well here in the past. He has been off since March and I'm not sure fast ground is what he wants.
Robert Cowell is the trainer to go to with sprinters and his Jiroft merits plenty of respect. He made his debut for the trainer in the Dash at Epsom last weekend and wasn't disgraced finishing fifth and he could be sharper for that run as it was his first since September. He is a multiple winner in Italy and looks capable of winning in this grade once again.
Staying with Friday's action and for you jumps fans there's a top class Hunter Chase at Stratford, the Stratford Foxhunters Champion Hunters' Chase. It's probably fair to say that Salsify is one of the very best hunters around at the moment.
He was though a fortunate winner at the Cheltenham festival when left clear when Oscar Delta jinked 150 yards from the line. He has since followed up with another win at Punchestown and he looks set to do the same again here in a bid to repeat last year's victory. Chapoturgeon was resolute in winning at Newton Abbot last time out though and he can continue to progress in this grade.
Let's take a look at Saturday's action now and at Haydock the Group 3 Pinnacle Stakes is one of the highlights. There are some interesting runners in this mile and a half race which is restricted to fillies and mares.

They include Eton Forever who showed his well being by winning on his reappearance over this course and distance. My one worry about him is the ground though as he seems to be most effective when there is some cut in it.
Last year's winner Pastoral Player also lines up. He's a quirky individual, but he ran an encouraging race behind Eton Forever last time out. Amarillo is another runner sent over from Peter Schiergen's stable in Germany. He maybe better suited to a mile though and again fast ground is an unknown.
Libranno will love the trip but is vulnerable under a penalty. On his day he could win this though and the drop back in trip should suit. Red Jazz isn't the most consistent, but conditions suit him.
If Eton Forever handles the ground he should go very well but there is that doubt in my mind. Libranno can run well despite the penalty and at the likely prices I may give him a chance, albeit an each way chance, if the price allows.

Sony Finally Gets One (Mostly) Right

a time when tablets are becoming increasing similar, it's rare that you
pick up a device and have one of those, "Whoa!" moments. You relish
them when they come, because it means that creativity and innovation
still exist in a world of look-alikes. After years of trying and failing
with Android tablets, Sony has finally delivered one of those

It's Sony's latest (and definitely greatest) attempt at making a tablet. The company has had some near-hits, like the Xperia Tablet S,We are a special provider in best bulb,also a professional porcelaintiles saler. and some colossal, bone-breaking failures, like the Sony Tablet P. But finally, at long last, Sony got it together and built itself one excellent piece of hardware. It's of the 10-inch, Android Jelly Bean (4.1, not 4.2) variety. It's got a 1080p screen, Qualcomm's quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, two 2GB of RAM, a micro SD card slot, an IR blaster, and oh yeah, it's freaking waterproof! It can stay in up to three feet of water for up to half an hour. Movie time and bath time, together at last.

At 0.27 inches (6.9 millimeters), it is the thinnest tablet in the world (the iPad Mini is 7.2 millimeters, for comparison). At 17.46 ounces (495 grams), it's the lightest full-sized tablet we've seen (the current generation iPad is 23.35 ounces). Not only that, it's perfectly balanced. You can comfortably hold it one-handed in landscape mode. It's even thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S4 (see above), which is one of the thinnest phones out there.
The tablet is almost a perfect rectangle, with just barely rounded corners. The back is a matte, brushed plastic, that has an excellent grip to it. It's not going to accidentally slide off your lap on the subway. Sony also did something pretty ingenius with the speakers, too. A lot of tablets stick the speaker holes on the bottom-edge of the tablet, where your lap will muffle them if it's resting on your legs, or they stick the holes on the sides, where your hands will muffle them if you're holding it. Sony put the speakers on the two bottom corners (when holding it landscape), but it put the holes for the speakers on the bottom and the sides, so even if you're covering two of the holes the sound can come out through the other two. Smart, though we still definitely prefer the front-facing speakers on Google's Nexus 10.
On the side, it shares the same nubby buttons as the Xperia ZL phone, but while they were kind of ugly on the phone, they're perfectly pleasant on the tablet. They're easy to find, and easy to press. Down on the bottom there are two panels behind sealed doors. One is for the micro SD card slot, and the other is for the micro USB / micro HDMI port,Full color werkzeugbaus printing and manufacturing services. which you can use to change your tablet and/or stream HD video to your TV. There's also an 8MP rear facing camera, which we would encourage you to ignore.
The Xperia Tablet Z is running Sony's custom skin on top of Android. On the plus side, the tablet version of this skin is extremely intuitive to use. Dedicated buttons for Google Now, Voice Search, adding apps/widgets, and the remote control are all very easy to understand. Sony also put in some power management tools that gives you standby times to the tune of many days. Essentially, it turns off your data connection when the screen is off, but you can whitelist apps (like Gmail, for example) so you get important notifications. It's very nicely done.
Sony did, however, put more than a dozen of its own apps on the tablet, many of which are either inferior replacements of the standard Android apps (Sony's Album < Android's Gallery), or services you really don't need (Wi-Fi Checker? Consumers were clamoring for that?). It managed to build a remote control app that works better than any we've used, but it failed to integrate a guide to what's on, like HTC and Samsung did. Sony has an app for that, but it's only compatible with networked devices. Not very helpful.
In terms of day to day usage, we generally threw it in a backpack (usually with no protection) and it was light and thin enough that we literally forgot it was there multiple times and tossed our bag around more roughly than we would have. After a week of such abuse the tablet doesn't have a scratch on it, though we'd definitely still recommend getting a case. We also verified the waterproof claims, taking it into the shower with us and then leaving it submerged in a bath while a video played. One of the Tablet Z's slick tricks is that the touchscreen will actually work reasonably well when wet. You couldn't game with it like that, but it was good enough for controlling basic functions.
On the hardware side of things, it's really almost all like. The lightness and thinness really are killer features, and the thing just feels amazing to hold. The 1080p screen with Sony's Mobile Bravia Engine 2 produces some of the most vibrant, and yet most accurate colors we've ever seen on a tablet, especially for things like flowers and landscapes. Battery life was fantastic with Stamina Mode enabled. HD games (such as Dead Trigger) played extremely well, without so much as a hitch.
We absolutely love the waterproof element. It's not a gimmick. It actually makes us feel safe using it pretty much anywhere, in virtually any condition.Learn how an embedded microprocessor in a solarlight can authenticate your computer usage and data. Because it's dust-proof, too, this is the only tablet we'd want to take with us to the beach, a construction site, or, y'know, Burning Man. In contrast, IT security focuses on protecting data, such as credit card numbers, from being stolen. The era of black and white voter identity cards, which over the years
had evolved with the democracy and became synonymous with the electoral
process, may soon pave way for coloured and more authentic-looking
Elector Photo Identity Cards popularly known as EPIC. The new look EPIC
will not only have the latest coloured photograph of the voter, but will
also have a host of new features, which will lend an unique touch to
it.
Elaborating more about the coloured voter ID card, chief electoral officer of Uttar Pradesh, Umesh Sinha, said, "We are planning to give new look coloured voter ID card to the voters in the state before the 16th general elections scheduled to be held in 2014. I particularly like to catch them then on buzz-baits, and there are plenty of four- to five- pound smallmouth to be caught.
It is the same in Canada lakes with largemouth bass, and you can easily catch a seven-pounder this time of year on topwater lures. But youll seldom see a Canadian largemouth much bigger than that because they just dont get bigger in Canada. One thing you have to do if you fish in June for bass with topwater lures, you have to use an 8- to 12-inch steel leader. There are just too many northern pike there, and sometimes huge muskies. The teeth of both, and the razor sharp gill covers, can easily cut your line unless you use steel leaders.
Anyone can go to Canada and fish, even if you have never been there before. My advice is, take two of your fishing buddies along and split the cost. Take your own boat. Take groceries, and several plastic tanks of gas. Gas is always twice as high in that country than it is here. So are groceries. In fact, so is darn near everything else.
You do not want to have any motor trouble there, as it will cost you dearly to have any kind of work done. Before you leave, make sure the motor is in tip-top shape and your trailer bearings are greased well and you have two spare tires for the boat trailer. Use your seat belts, because the fine for a seat belt infraction is $300 to us.

Limited (BMRCL) wore a deserted look on Friday, with hardly any
customers paying it a visit. Though there is a provision to allot 83
stalls for artisans and members of self-help groups, the BMRCL has
succeeded in attracting only about 40 artisans and those who support the
cause of artisans in rural areas.
The artisans who have been exhibiting their products at these stalls for more than 20 days have been sitting idle most of the time owing to lack of customers.
Some people visit our stalls during the weekends but not on weekdays. I think that the lack of awareness or publicity about Bengaluru Santhe might be a reason for the low response and lack of encouragement from public, said M Manjula, member of a self-help group, Suruchi, which exhibits cotton bags at the Santhe.
The objective of Bengaluru Santhe was to promote and help artisans from rural areas. The exhibition was supposed to be a platform for artisans to showcase their best products. The terms and conditions of participation offered to rural artisans and members of self-help groups includes a fee of Rs100 per stall per day. The artisans have to share 5% of the revenue with the BMRCL. The shops can be rented out for a maximum period of 60 days. The artisans have no problem to pay the fee of Rs 100 per day but they are worried about the lack of response from the public.
We are very happy with the guidance and cooperation of K Prabhakara Rao, the chief executive officer of BMRCL. Though his intentions are good, the need of the hour is publicity. Not many people are aware of the existence of Bengaluru Santhe, said Rajeswari Manjunath of Shiva Home Products from Shimoga.
Lack of other facilities such as eateries, entertainment and parking place for vehicles are attributed as the other reasons for the lack of footfalls at Bengaluru Santhe.
Many visitors have told us that they faced lot of problems to find space for parking vehicles. Ten years ago I joined a small club in Brooklyn whose five clay courts were first laid down in 1889. The more I've played on them, the dirtier my style has become: I put more topspin on the ball, and I expect it come back a lot more often. My game has also become more forehand-dominated, because I have time to run around and hit it. Thats one of the counterintuitive things about clay; rallies are longer, but you need to hit heavier, more penetrating shots to control them.
Playing on dirt is a good workout, and a good lesson in how to construct points. But it still doesnt seem to be the ideal surface for me. Last summer I went to a tennis camp in upstate New York with a few regular partners of mine. It rained that weekend, so we moved to the camps quick indoor courts.
